The Oberseminar SoSe26 explores the methodological and theoretical state of the art in digital humanities, digital heritage, digital history and digital oral history, focusing critical inquiry on the implementation of artificial intelligence, anti-AI movements, and practices of resilience to AI in these disciplinary domains. About the speaker: Can Şimşek is a lawyer and technology policy researcher specialising in the governance of emerging technologies, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence. He is a Research Fellow at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society and currently works as a consultant for UNESCO, supporting the implementation of the Recommendation on the Ethics of AI, and for the Forum on Information and Democracy, focusing on safeguarding access to reliable information in the age of AI.
