The complex problems of our time require complex solutions. Therefore, we pursue an interdisciplinary approach within the three central research fields of our department, in which the specific approaches and ways of thinking of the most diverse scientific disciplines complement each other and thus open up innovative perspectives. A prerequisite for successful interdisciplinarity is excellence in one's own subject.
